Finotech 8000 Two-Component Structural Glazing Silicone Sealant

Finotech 8000 is a two-component structural glazing silicone sealant developed with Swiss technology for high-performance façade and glazing applications. It is specially designed for structural bonding of glass to aluminum frames, where strength, durability, and long-term safety are critical. Once mixed and cured, Finotech 8000 forms a strong, elastic bond capable of supporting glass loads in modern architectural designs.

Where Structural Glazing (SG) Silicone MUST Be Used

(And IG Silicone MUST NOT Be Used)

✅ Use SG Silicone in These Applications

Structural Glazing (SG) silicone is designed to carry loads and ensure safety. It must be used wherever silicone is part of the structural system of the glass.

Use SG silicone for:

  • Bonding glass to aluminum frames in structural glazing systems

  • Curtain wall façades (unitized & semi-unitized systems)

  • Frameless glass façades where no mechanical fixing supports the glass

  • High-rise buildings where wind load and glass weight are critical

  • Spider / point-fixed glazing systems (where silicone contributes to load transfer)

  • Glass fins and architectural façade elements

👉 In these cases, the silicone supports glass weight, wind load, and movement.
👉 Using IG silicone here is unsafe and non-compliant.

Why Finotech 8000 Is a High-Quality Structural Silicone

1️⃣ Designed for Structural Load Bearing

Unlike normal sealing silicones, Finotech 8000 provides high tensile strength and controlled elasticity, which increases safety factors in Structural Silicone Glazing (SSG) designs. Its ultimate tensile strength reaches 0.90–1.20 MPa, allowing it to withstand wind load, glass weight, and building movement over time

2️⃣ Excellent Adhesion Without Primer

Finotech 8000 offers neutral-cure, primerless adhesion to most common façade substrates, including:

  • Clear, coated, enameled, and reflective glass

  • Anodized and chromated aluminum

  • Painted and polyester-coated aluminum

This reduces installation complexity while ensuring a durable, watertight structural bond. Primers are only required for specific high-performance coatings

3️⃣ Proven Durability in Harsh Climates

The silicone shows excellent resistance to UV, sunlight, ozone, rain, and temperature extremes, with a service temperature range from -40°C to +150°C. This makes Finotech 8000 especially suitable for UAE & GCC environmental conditions, where heat and UV exposure are critical concerns

4️⃣ Controlled Movement Capability

Finotech 8000 meets ASTM C920 Class 12.5, meaning it can safely accommodate ±12.5% joint movement without bond failure. This is essential for curtain wall and façade systems exposed to thermal expansion and structural movement

5️⃣ International Testing & Certification

The product has been tested and complies with major international standards, including:

  • ASTM C920

  • ASTM C1184

  • EN 1279

  • GB 16776

Performance testing was conducted by recognized laboratories such as TÜV SÜD and TÜV Rheinland, confirming long-term durability, adhesion, and weather resistance

6️⃣ Optimized for Factory & Curtain Wall Production

As a two-component system, Finotech 8000 allows:

  • Faster and controlled curing

  • Consistent strength across large projects

  • Efficient use in factory glazing and curtain wall production lines

This improves productivity while maintaining reliable structural performance

🔑 In Simple Words

Finotech 8000 is good because it doesn’t just seal — it safely holds glass in place.
It combines structural strength, durability, certified performance, and climate resistance, making it a dependable choice for professional façade and structural glazing project
